This is probably my last post on this blog. I thought about whether to continue writing about my visits to breweries by bike (e.g., I biked 25 miles around southern Maine on Sunday and hit 3 breweries in the process), but it feels like the purpose of this blog was really to chronicle my cross-country ride. If I decide to start another blog just for the purpose of critiquing breweries I’ll post a link here. And if I someday do another big ride (Vancouver-San Diego? Miami-Boston?) I’ll reopen this blog. In the meantime, I figured I should compile all the breweries (and wineries, etc.) that I visited into one post so people don’t have to go hunting through 6 weeks’ worth of posts to find a given brewery.

I’ve tried my best to rate the breweries on a 5-star system so you can get an idea of what’s worth a stop if you happen to find yourself in any of these cities. Of course, in a few cases I had to give half-stars, so you’ll just have to interpolate to evaluate those. And given the small number of wineries, meaderies, and cideries I went to, I didn’t bother rating those. But here’s what I intend for the brewery ratings to mean:

* Forgettable. Nothing stood out. You can safely skip it.
** Maybe a few beers above average but also a few beers below average. Check my notes for what to get if you don’t want to be disappointed.
*** Everything was at least good. A few beers were very good, and maybe one in particular stood out. Worth a stop if you happen to pass by it.
**** All the beers were solidly good to very good. Maybe a couple really stood out. Or else there was a single beer that completely blew me away. Definitely check it out if you find yourself in that city/town.
***** One of the top breweries of my trip. It would be really hard to go wrong with anything here. Probably worth a detour if you’re anywhere within 50 miles.
